New Public Interest Projects Report: Alliance Building in Action

The power and potential of alliance building can be seen in various efforts emerging in the social justice sector. As described in Public Interest Project's Alliance Building in Action: Profiles from the Field report, diverse communities are joining forces to address issues of common concern, including racial and economic justice, civic engagement, immigrant rights, education reform, community development, and beyond. These alliances are not temporary coalitions that disappear after a single campaign, nor are they abstract exercises in solidarity. Rather, they are ongoing efforts to strengthen work and achieve long term success by engaging partners on a deeper level. In the process, alliance building promises to bolster the foundations of the broader social justice movement.

Alliance Building in Action was presented at Public Interest Project's recent strategy session, Breaking the Silos, focused on the constructive role that alliance building across movements can play in stregthening social justice work. Read the full report here.
